LEGAL FEES

There are Two Sides to Every Story – You Need an Experienced Defence Counsel Telling Yours
When you arrange your initial in-person consultation to discuss your legal matter with Mr. Duncan, there is no charge. When you decide to retain Mr. Duncan's criminal defence representation, he will discuss the fees with you. Because every criminal charge has unique facts and circumstances, the fees vary from case to case.
Mr. Duncan typically does not charge on an hourly basis - instead, the fees are determined on a "fixed" or "block" basis so that Clients know up front what is involved. With some limited exceptions, the legal fees include all components of Mr. Duncan's representation on the file - Client meetings and telephone calls, court appearances, legal research, preparation, photocopying and faxing, letters, negotiations with Crown counsel, and, where trial is necessary, conduct of the trial.
Mr. Duncan is pleased to accept payments by Visa, MasterCard and Interac.
Mr. Duncan is also flexible in cases where Clients are not in a position to pay the fees at the outset - he commonly arranges a payment plan schedule with his Clients in such circumstances.
