When you arrange your initial in-person consultation to discuss your legal matter with Mr. Duncan or his team, there is no charge. When you decide to retain his services, he will discuss the fees with you. There is no “cookie-cutter” approach to legal fees. Just as you and your experiences are unique, so is your case. Every case is different, and because of that, fees will vary.
Mr. Duncan typically charges on a “block fee” or “fixed fee” basis rather than on an hourly rate. This approach allows Clients to know up front what will be involved, and to budget accordingly. That fixed fee includes, with some exceptions that are clearly identified, all components of Mr. Duncan’s representation on the file – Client meetings and telephone calls, court appearances, legal research, preparation, photocopying and faxing, letters, negotiations with Crown counsel, and, where trial is necessary, conduct of the trial.
Mr. Duncan is pleased to accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, Interac and Interac e-mail transfer.
Mr. Duncan is also flexible in cases where Clients are not in a position to pay the fees at the outset – he typically arranges a payment plan schedule with his Clients in such circumstances.
